What does TDAC one to one support actually look like?

Untitled design 1

One to one support is a single participant paired with a single support worker, built entirely around what that person wants to work on.

There is no fixed program in one to one support. It is one participant, one crew member, and a plan shaped around what actually matters to that person. Some weeks that is grocery shopping and catching the train. Other weeks it is footy training, a haircut appointment, or just getting out of the house.

What it's for

Focused help with a specific skill, like cooking, budgeting or using public transport. Support to get to and from appointments, sport or social things. Company and a hand with everyday tasks, without the group setting. A steady, familiar face rather than a rotating group.

How a session actually runs

A one to one session starts with what the participant wants out of it, not a script. A support worker might spend a session practising ordering at a cafe, or planning a trip on the train, or working through a checklist for an appointment. The goal is always the same. Build a real skill or get a real thing done, with support that fades as confidence grows

How the funding works

One to one support is generally funded under Core Supports or Capacity Building, depending on the goal. If the focus is a skill like travel training or budgeting, it often sits under Capacity Building. If it's more about community access or daily support, it usually sits under Core. Your plan and how it is managed will determine exactly what is available, so if you are unsure, that is worth checking with your coordinator.

How it works with us

Every one to one arrangement with TDAC starts with a conversation about what the participant actually wants, not what fits a template. We match a support worker to the person, not the other way around, and the plan adjusts as things change.
